Apparently, Cubic is the hottest club in town in City of Dreams hotel (MACAU). But I didn't go. I'll someday...with Dan! :)

They say that Dancing Waters is a very good show! Damn. Didn't manage to watch it. Will go to Macau again!

Glitzy hotels everywhere on the streets. Like Las Vegas.

Happy National Day!

A belated Happy National Day to my beloved country Singapore! :)

How did you guys spend your National Day? I went to the zoo with my parents! Just a little something that would make my dad cheer up. He's been a little depressed lately as we do not let him work anymore as his body cannot take the toll. I understand how he feels...he used to be the breadwinner but now he has to depend on us instead.

He's growing older and more frail in health by the day. Sometimes, I'm so worried and scared. Especially so when I see my uncle like this. I know some day, that day will come, when my siblings and me will weep just like our cousins did. I could feel their pain of losing their dad. I do not know when that day will come. Of course I wish by god's grace he can still have many more years to come, to spend with us, till my siblings and I get married and he becomes a grandpa with grandchildren to play with.

My siblings and I bought insurance policies for our parents 2 weeks ago. We are sharing the cost.
From now on, everything I do, will be for my parents. I want them to enjoy the best of this world and life while they still can, while they are still able to. I'll work hard, earn lots of money, and bring them travel to as many places as possible. I want them to see the world. I do not want them to have any regrets in this lifetime. They've been working so hard for the past many decades to bring us up. It's time for them to take a real break :)

Recently, my uncle passed away. On 26 Jul 11, Tuesday. After I got the news, I immediately rushed down to hospital from work. But still, by the time I reached, I was still too late. I didn't manage to see him for the last time. I visited him for 2 days straight before that and he was still fighting for his survival. But alas, he can now be free from pain and suffering and in peace.

Initially, I took leave on 27 Jul to attend my good fren's Ray's wedding. However, in the end I couldn't as I had to attend the funeral and partake in the rituals instead. The last day of the wake was especially painful as we offered him our final respects before he was sent off to the crematorium. My 3 uncles cried. My uncle's wife couldn't take the sorrow and was unable to see him to the crematorium...

I think it's better off visiting Hong Kong to buy. All the locals here does that.

Haven't been updating for the longest time ever! I guess I've turned lazy every since I got work life balance from my fairly well paid new job. Haa ;p Not that I'm complaining though, I reach home at 6.30 everyday and then I get to enjoy the little comforts of watching korean dramas & MVs at my own pace. Perhaps I should look into getting a new hobby. It's unhealthy to eat & sleep & watch videos everyday!

Yeah, I just finished the end of my 2nd week here. So far so good. I'm the writer for the EATS column for a magazine by my new company. It's my first byline! Of course, it's very different from how I write my blog. I'm lazy to use creative writing cus it sorta uses up my brain cells. Will post a picture of the review in the mag once it's printed and out for distribution in Aug! :) Did it with the editor and photographer this time. Next time, I'm on my own with photographer. Food tastings are so exciting!

Yes, my new job as a "mini" editor/writer in the Advertising & Promotions department is very different from what I used to do (international events - exhibitions, high level government meetings & conferences). My workload is fairly light compared to my hellish job in the past (no worklife balance, not enough sleep, work till wee morn hours and I really mean like 3am, 5am etc and then going to work again the next morn), non-stop OT. It's crazy. I changed job cus I was burned out. Awfully. And of cus, my lady boss is a LOUSY boss. I wouldn't want to be so silly to give up a good opportunity and SLOG for someone like her or the company.

They tell me it's HARD to change industry. Yes, it really is. I do not deny that. I tried for a few years before I get the job that I want now. So just keep trying and don't give up! Eventually, the right opportunity will come along and grab it! It's all about interview skills and how well you sell yourself. I am not a writer. No creative flair. But I got a pay increase instead (didn't suffer pay cut) and a pretty attractive salary package!

I used to doubt if I can succeed at this job at all. But HECK with it, I decided to give it a go anyway. Now I'm discovering another side of my potential! If I want to and set my mind on it, I can do it! My boss's very pleased with my food review and said it was well-written! :) I was so happy when I heard that. Initially, I was a bag of nerves and seriously wondered if I can produce the work at all.

I believe in fate when looking for a job. If it's yours, it's yours. If it isn't, then it isn't. I was supposed to go for 2 interviews for my co. In the end, they decided not to go with the 2nd interview cuz they felt I was the suitable candidate and they offered me the package the very next day. Little did I know that they've been looking to fill this position for 2 to 3 months despite having interviewed so many others already. I was supposed to go for an interview with another wine (I can't appreciate wine for nuts so lol) co but I decided to turn it down in favour of my new co.

But lady luck has been shining on me since I started working in society. Didn't experience a lot of difficulty in landing myself a job. Always manage to find one within a month or so.

Always REMEMBER this: Think for yourself and go for what you think is best for you. Company will never think for you. They will think for themselves. They will not thank you or show appreciation for your efforts. Afterall, it's just a business transaction between you and the company you know? Company pays you, you work. That's all. Similarly, you don't have to feel guilty about leaving. There's no right or wrong time to leave. So long as you serve finish the contractual obligation of giving the full notice period, you responsibility ends right here.

So many people getting married this year! Gonna be broke from giving ang baos LOL. Cindy & Gerard, Joe & Claire, Ray and Dan's friend.

Alrightey....time to update on my MACAU trip in May. I went from 17 to 19 May (over a weekend) with Jocelyn. Took 1 week of MC to do wisdom tooth surgery. I'm so scared of dentist. Hate the idea of sharp things poking around inside my mouth and yanking it. Grrrr. But I survived it. Dentist still asked if I wanna keep my tooth sia. zzz. My impacted tooth didn't erupt last year although it gave me problems such as infection (think food particles were trapped). I let it be until this May it was giving me serious Migranes! But all's well now. It was the right decision to be BRAVE and have it removed once and for all. I'm now painless! :)

Wisdom tooth surgery today & Out

New accessories I bought before Pearly wedding a the Riverpoint area where there was flea market. Our colleagues banded together at Brewerkz for Pearly's pre-wedding celebration

I had my wisdom tooth surgery this morning. Damn painful :( The painkillers does help.

I've always had fear of going to the dentist. My wisdom tooth had been giving me problems since last year. There was some infection but it healed later so I thought I could get away with it. The pain comes back once in awhile but the last few days I was having split headaches. Decided to get rid of the impacted tooth once and for all.

It is medium risk oral surgery (spent $1250 but fully claimable from CPF) as my wisdom tooth was sitting on top of my nerve. There is still some numbness. I wonder when it will go away fully. When I took x-ray last year, it was hidden beneath the gum. A few days ago when I looked, it erupted mid-way~

3 stitches. Removing the stitches next week. I hope it recovers before Macau trip on Friday!

I hope I never have to go through such horrendous oral surgery again! I am not as brave as I thought and my pain tolerance level is certainly not high. Sighs. Wonder how to give birth next time.

And yes, effectively I am using 7 days of MC to offset my notice period (it's purely a coincidence!).

Some overdue pictures....went to Genting with Jocelyn on Good Friday. Some designer accessories I bought at Blueprint show (was onsite doing the event). The designer pieces are frigging expensive! But just can't resist you know ;p

And...I'm going to Macau next Friday to Sun! So excited....can't wait.

Another piece of good news....hehe....I found another job with a better pay package (too attractive to say no to!) and work life balance as well. I will not OT as much and can knock off at 5.30pm! Yoohoo....my last day is 23 June in my current co. New job starts on 27 June. Super fast!

Love Bonito Covet Prevage High Waist Pants finally came!

Need to alter it shorter as it is a bit long for me. I was disappointed when I first saw the tag size "M". I was like >.<" I waited so long just for a wrong size to be delivered to me.

I tried it on and weirdly, it fits me! Usually, if it is a true M size, it will definitely drop down. I measured it with my other S size, pants, the measurements are the same! I think might have been tagged wrongly but still...

wonder if anyone faces the same thing as I did.

This top shop orangey tan pants was on 20% off and so I bought it!

Did gel nails at Holiday Plaza JB! Think it's called the Nails Art House! KSL City also has one (a newly opened shopping centre across Holiday Plaza).

It's uber cheap la!!! I did soak off for the previous gel nails I did for my toes at PINC,
+ classic pedicure + 2-tone gel color nails and it costs me only SGD 51!!!

Unbelievable right? In Singapore, doing the toe gel nails alone will cost you $70. Don't even mention about two tone or soak off.

I'll definitely go back again!

Bought some stuff from Diaso. The colorful boxes help to keep my stuff neat haaa. I think I've like about close to 10 in my room now? LOL. I store my makeup, comics etc in these boxes.

I'm so lazy to blog nowadays. Watched the movie Limitless with Joce on Friday. Movie is smart but rather disorienting. I was dizzy!

On Sat (yesterday), joined the tanglin flea market with Dan, Claire & Joe. I earned $180! Dan earned $40 and Claire and Joe earned $188! The weather was however terribly hot and rained for an hour or so around 6 to 7 pm. Luckily, we had cleared most of our stuff by then.

The first time I joined with Eva, I earned $120 and she earned $90 I already felt it was uber good!

The rental at $85 although expensive it is just worth it. The crowd is guaranteed. Don't think I'll consider to ever join other flea markets again. Their rental might be cheaper, however, no crowd. And we still have to go through the trouble of setting up rack, bring hangars and decorative items etc. Damn tedious!

At Tanglin, just sprawl a mat, throw the clothes on the floor and you are good to go! :) There are no chairs provided though as compared to other flea. You gotta bring your own stools. My butt and legs are aching right now!!! Stayed at home and lazed in bed the entire day partly due to my aching muscles.

I'm so pleased and happy to say that I've cleared most of my clothes, old shoes and bags and I'm now left with only 1 small box and 1 small bag. I don't think I'll be joining so soon again until I've amassed enough stuff from my family members to sell again.

CIAO!!! Oh yes, I've been pretty interested in North Korea lately. Read up and watched Youtube on the US defectors living there, and how some of the north koreans risk their lives and everything just to escape their country, and how some are being brainwashed by the government's propaganda. It's very saddening.

Was on leave on Fri! Went to Johore Holiday Plaza to rebond my hair & trim off the bad ends caused by digital perm last year. Spent only about $70 SGD! For my hair length, that's like uber worth la. And it includes cutting & treatment as well.

I was told not to wash hair for 3 days. I was supposed to wash only tml but I just cannot tahan anymore. The weather is so humid and hot. With all the sweat and dirt, my hair was turning into an oil tank! I washed this morning and it still looks fine :) Phew~~

Went to Dan dar's uncle's house and Bai Nian. Received lotsa angbaos there ^_^

My lovely ASOS nude color clutch has arrived!!! Super lovely!!! Got it at 12 pounds, about SGD 25.50. FOC delivery for international orders at ASOS website now. So if you are thinking of buying things, just do it! Heh. I am waiting for another 2 more lovely Victoria Beckham inspired dresses from ASOS. Think the items will be lovely too. Going to Ray's hse to BAI NIAN!

Bought 2 seamless triump undies from Metro since it was on offer. I realised these 2 are my first seamless undies. Dan dar was complaining about my visible panty line for some of my tight dresses. LOL.

What did we do on our 4th day of CNY? Louis and Amanda came over to Dan's place. We had lunch together and then slacked watching Youtube videos. They left around 3 pm. Dan dar and I laze until evening time, ate dinner and then he sent me back to woodlands where he bought 2 toys as well.

AHHHHHHHHHHH tml going back to work is DAMN super SIAN!

The Flower Festival at Sentosa was uber crowded!!! Frustrating as I couldn't take nice pictures of the flowers. We walked the Sentosa Boardwalk for the first time. Of cus, went to Victoria's Secret Store and bought 3 sexy undies!

Bought another new knit bandage grapevine dress. Did I get taller or AE;s dresses are slightly shorter now? Dan dar also commented the same. Hmmz

Gel Nails!

Did Gel Silver Glitter nails with Pinc. Seems like it is by far my fav. nail salon.

My first time trying gel nails. Heard about it from my colleagues and decided to do it for this year's CNY! Last about 1 month. Just nice as V-day and my 24th bdae is also during Feb!

Gel nails, as the name suggests, need to be cured by the UV lamp. The initial process can be quite tedious as it is one layer gel, one layer colour, and it repeats for a few times. But once it is done, it is realli good!!! INSTANT DRY. Good for people like me at least haha. I am so rough I always have it smudged or chipped or something somehow will happen to my nails no matter how careful I tried to be. LOL.

This is a good saviour for peeps like me! :)
Totally lovin' it and I think I'll be hooked to gel nails. It ain't suppose to be harmful to your natural nails. But yes, you will need to have it soaked off properly.

Got a brownish pink mascara (Jap brand) from Watsons with my colleague Pei Chuan.
I just tried it yesterday and it's very very natural! I think I'll put this on everyday for work to enhance the look of my eyes rather than use black mascara which can be too heavy for work I feel.

The eye masks that Pei Chuan helped me buy back from Taiwan.

Another super chio dress that we got frm ALT at The Heeren. I had wanted to own such a dress made using this fabric a long time ago and now I finally found one of superb quality and at a real steal! It's initially $100 plus. We got it at only $50 plus!

I finally jumped on the maxi wagon and got me my first maxi dress! I always have a hard time looking for maxi dresses cuz I am too short for most of them and they don't fit me well.

This one not only suits me in terms of length, but also style!
I can wear this out for both casual and normal occasions. Got it at $55. Saw another nice one at The Cathay. Also $56. Should I buy?? Guess not, no such need to own so many maxi dress. LOL.

I haven't blogged in such a long time. The moment I was back from Thailand, I drowned in work again. How was your x'mas? I spent both christmas eve and christmas with Dan dar. We watched The tron legacy movie. Nice show.

I am on block leave from 27 to 31 Dec, back to work on 3 Jan, but might be going back to office for a day during the block leave. Gonna spend the week tidying up my room. Rented a car this weekend to drive my love around for our new year countdown! :) So excited.

1st visiting stop in Bangkok: MBK Shopping centre!

Had Japanese food at MBS for lunch.

The other time when I went Bangkok with Dan, I didn't really explored Siam Discovery Centre and Central World. I did this time round!

The Siam Oceanarium.The entrance fee was unfortunately super expensive like 900 bhat??

I love watching ocean animals and will definitely go if it had been cheaper.

We somehow lost our orientation and came to this contruction site. It was actually dangerous ok! I think we are like the first ones to ever cross the river and bridge to reach Platinum Fashion Mall! Style right...lol

Went there for a short getaway with my sec sch friend Eve.

Chinatown. It was actually the wholesale centre for shoes! Very nice heels, platforms, boots.
They supply to stores in Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam etc which in turn sell to us consumers.

Just imagine, when we buy from Platinum Fashion Mall, for some very nice decent heels and platforms, we can already get it at 200 to 250 bhat. At China town, it is like wholesale price 120 to 160 bhat???

Unfortunately, we cannot buy at all! :( Min. 6 pairs of the same design, same colour & same size.

We were just roaming around and came across this Canton House which sells very nice dim sum!

We had this for lunch, each basket costs only 16 bhat!!! And mind you, it was a very nice restaurant btw.

We visited a chinese temple.

We came across a school! The children were performing and they were very adorable!

Was indeed a spectacular sight to behold, at least for me. The statue was very awe-inspiring.

Boohoo but the music seriously sucked that nite! We left at 2am for supper and never headed back. I fell like ASLEEP when having supper. My colleagues tried to wake me up a few times but to no avail haha! Armillyah drove me home thereafter, but she too was so tired I was so afraid she couldn't keep her eyes peeled! I was totally asleep all the way.

I got my driving license on 30 Nov 2010! :) I took the manual driving test.

Was so darn happy when I passed. Finally realize my resolution of getting a driving license this year! I achieved 2 of my resolutions set at the start of the year. Promotion and driving license! Felt a sense of accomplishment. What about you? A new year will dawn upon us soon and we will once again set new resolutions!

Itching to get a car. Haha. Tis is what happens when you get a driving license. I definitely wouldn't want my license to be collecting dust in my wallet. Getting a car loan is a big financial responsibility. I am still not so sure if I should take such a big step forward as I am also saving up for my marriage plans! Getting a car would mean I will not be able to spend leisurely on clothes and bags already.

Oh wells, I shall think hard and long about it.

Anyways, I went to the new shopping centre NEX at Serangoon already. I think it's pretty cool. Got many shops that other shopping centres don't have, hence worth checking out.

This is what I've been HELLUVA busy for sooooo long! I'm so glad it's all over now.
So many things happened onsite. Sighs.

Me and my colleague Christal. We went to butterfactory to club on 26 Nov night after the event ends together with Debbie.

Eva and Kat was there as well.

I think I'm super CRAZY! Lol. Literally didn't sleep much for the past don't know how many weeks and right after my event ends, I clubbed until 4am then went to practise driving at 9am the next morning! And the very next night I had to go with Christal and the bosses to the Singapore Orchid Ball function. One of the events leading up to World Orchid Conference 2011! :)

It will the next mega project I work on after APEC 2009. Singapore once hosted the 4th WOC. Now Singapore is hosting the 20th one again :)

Anyways, at the club, ran into Roger an old fren. Also met Eugene, Dan's pal.

The queue was super duper mad la. Luckily Christal managed to get her frens who signed me, Eva and Kat in for free.

The gift pack from Singapore Orchid Ball was really good! I even got a small pot of orchid back. It's in Dan's house now.

Bought 4 boxes of maxi eyes contact lenses (I am currently using one pair). The big eye effect is really good! Cheap too. Comfy. $56 for 4 boxes, (buy 2 get 2 free), works out to be about $14 per pair. Super worth la!

I think the pictures can speak for themselves :) We took the mummy and jurassic park water ride. We wore ponchos so weren't exactly drenched. Mummy ride was super cool!!! There was something wrong with the donkey show so we ended up having a FOC complimentary express ride ticket!

Coming right up is my celebration with Dan dar for our anniversary at Universal Studios Spore on Fri! It was any early celebration cuz for the next 2 weeks, I'm going to be very busy preparing for my event AAMA-TEX 2010 happening from 23 to 26 Nov at MBS.

And yes, I have a good news to share with all of you :) I've been promoted. Alas my efforts and hard work have not been in vain.

I wish to dedicate a post to the most gifted and talented singer ever in history, Sa Ding Ding.

A beautiful chinese lady, she was born to a Han father and Mongolian mother. Her hauntingly beautiful voice is unmistakable, and definitely unforgettable. Her unique ability to sing songs in multi languages has made her intriguing to me! She sings in mandarin, sanskrit, tibetan and self created language. Who the hell sings in sanskirt and tibetan now??? Creating her own language even?? Especially for modern singers?? She also composes her own music and choreographs her own performances.

She won the prestigious 2008 BBC Radio 3 World Music Award and performed at the Royal Albert Hall to a world audience.

She sang the theme song for 劍雨浮生 and 锦衣卫 chinese movies. Both of which are excellent movies. She is what I would call "百聞難得一聽的民族唱腔" :)

I dabbed on Maybelline's black gel eyeliner over my crease line. I extended it a little and connected it with lower water line.

Tada! Completed look. Products I used:

1. Laurier Mercier Foundation primer - It's important to prep your face so makeup lasts longer and you look fresh even at the end of the day!

2. Covermark essence liquid foundation in shade YP 30 - I used ecotools foundation brush

3) Covermark loose power - I used ecotools kabuki brush

4) MAC blush in Dainty

5) Covermark lip gloss in pink - I applied lip balm before that.

6) Maybelline Jet Back waterproof gel eyeliner - Japanese formula

7) Honeybrow eyebrow pencil

8) Kate mascara base

9) Majolica Majorca black mascara

I bought a new hairband from Helen and wore it on the spot yesterday! ;p

I've been working like crazy these 2 weeks. I recalled working until 3am on a fri night, and several nights in a row until midnight or 1am. I was sooooo tired! Too much work to clear.

I watched 2 movies this weekend with Dan dar. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Legend of the First. NICE! :) I want to watch Devil too. Many nice movies coming up!! I want to catch them all.

There's just 1 last day of my Taipei trip during Apr to blog and I'm finally done!

Missed seeing the beautiful Singapore Garden Fest Galore. I can go in free cuz I can gain access to Official Passes (event handled by my company) but I actually missed it cuz I'm just too busy!
If I hadn't went to Taipei for AAMA-TEX, I was supposed to go SGF to observe the judging for World Orchid Conference. Oh wels.

But I did snoop around the halls outside for SGF on Sunday when I returned from Taipei so took some pictures as well. I want to upload!

Speaking of which, I haven't blogged about my Taipei work trip. I stayed in 2 different hotels. Brother Hotel was fantastic but absolutely expensive. It's paid for by the bosses! Yay-ness. And I ate sharks fin and all the expensive dishes everyday when in Taipei due to business lunches and dinners.
